The Softwave Transmitter product family supports full-featured broadband RF transmission from any computer equipped with PCI expansion slots.  The hardware consists of two half-length expansion cards joined together with simple coaxial cable connections.  Software development is supported atop the Windows or Linux operating systems using the supplied API and hardware driver set.

The expansion cards used in the Softwave Transmitter system are selected from the standard catalog of Red Rapids products.  System cards are divided into two classes; signal generators and up converters.  Generator units include any of the transceiver and transmitter cards from the Signal Stream, Channel Accelerator or Channel Express product families.  Up converter units include any of the Wavefront Modulator variants.
